Uep Airways, a former “Harrier” pilot in the Spanish Navy, will operate inter-island flights in the Balearic Islands

Uep Airways was founded with the aim of running regular flights between the islands in the Balearic Islands with 3 ATR 72 this spring, operated by the parent company Swiftair and connecting the airports of Palma de Mallorca, Ibiza and Menorca, and later to the peninsula to expand. Initially, you have three aircraft at your disposal.

Both are headed by Salvador Moreno González-Aller, who retired from the Spanish Navy as an activist and was a former Harrier pilot and has devoted himself to aviation since entering civilian life. The company is preparing its reservation system for direct sales and through the sales channels available on the market. Up until last year, Swiftair had a partnership with Air Europa on the same routes, the former supplying the aircraft, crews, maintenance and insurance and the latter marketing them with their code and image. Globalia’s bad situation with important treasury problems led Swiftair to interrupt this business area, which it will now restore independently via Uep Airways, taking advantage of the conditions for public service obligations that apply in this autonomous community. Swiftair, one hundred percent Spanish, operates a hundred Boeing 757, 737, ATR 42 and 72, BAE Systems ATP and Embraer Brasilia and Fairchild ?? Metro ??.
