The progressive sensor supplier Hensoldt is modernizing the TRS-3D radars of two corvettes of the K130 class for the German Navy as well as an associated offshore installation. The Federal Office for Equipment, Information Technology and Service Support (BAAINBw) of the Bundeswehr has ordered the corresponding electronic components, which will be delivered this year.
The TRS-3D is a three-dimensional multimode marine radar for air and sea surveillance that can correlate the position and movement data of targets with the Hensoldt MSSR 2000 I identification system and thus improve the automatic identification of ships and aircraft.
The TRS-3D is the world leader in its class with more than 60 radars used by navies and coast guards around the world. The ships equipped with this include the K130 corvettes, the National Security Cutters of the United States Coast Guard, the Littoral Combat Ships of the United States Navy and various ships of the Finnish Navy and the Norwegian Coast Guard.
