Infraero announces that it will provide advisory and advisory services for the inspection of the executive project, as well as for the reinforcement and restoration works on the runway of the Adolino Bedin regional airport in Sorriso (MT).

The company announced on Monday 19th October that the contract was signed with the Secretariat for Economic Development of the Municipality of Sorriso (MT). The project for the work has already been carried out by the state-owned company, which will now also oversee the execution phase.

In order to carry out the work, which will take twelve months, Infraero informs that it has a multidisciplinary team of professionals with experience in the airport sector.

“Infraero knows every detail and every challenge of airport operations, regardless of whether they are large, medium or small. We have highly qualified teams that work in the areas of regulation, operations, safety, maintenance, engineering, environment, finance, logistics, that is, the entire know-how of an airport operation, ”commented Francisco Nunes, Business Superintendent at Infraero.

The manager also celebrates the signing of the contract with the city of Sorriso and reaffirms Infraero’s commitment to the development of regional aviation.

“Sorriso is an extremely important city for Brazil with a thriving agricultural sector that continues to grow. It is very gratifying for us to be able to support the city in the development of regional aviation, which is also one of the focal points of Infraero, ”he emphasized.

The Sorriso / Adolino Bedin regional airport, just 10 kilometers from the city center, opened in June 2016 and, in addition to general aviation, has regular and unscheduled commercial aviation operations.

Capital of the agribusiness

Known as the national agribusiness capital, Sorriso is the municipality that produces more grain in Brazil and is responsible for 3% of national production and 17% of Mato Grosso production.

The city is the largest single soy producer in the world. In each harvest cycle, the region’s 600,000 agricultural hectares produce more than 5.6 million tons of grain and 26.4 thousand tons of cotton flag. In addition to grain production, Sorriso is also one of the largest fish producers in the country.

The city has a little over 90,000 inhabitants. It is one of the fastest growing economies in the state and the third largest agricultural economy in Brazil according to IBGE.
