The engines of the Maracanã patrol boat for the Brazilian Navy are activated

The Commander of the Brazilian Navy, Ilques Barbosa Junior, visited the Patrol Ship (NPa) “Maracan” (p. 72) accompanied by the Director General of Naval Material, the Commander General of the Marines and the Chief of Staff of the Commander. of 500 tons, which will be based in Belm do Par), reporting to the North Naval Group and the river and coastal boats “Excalibur”, on February 26th. The progress of the work and the first activation of the engines (2 MCP MTU 16V 4000 M90) of the P 72 confirmed the full validity of the development of the shipbuilding capacity of the arsenal of the Navy of Rio de Janeiro (AMRJ).

The commander of naval operations and the commander of the 1st maritime district (Com1DN) accompanied the commander’s visit to the future patrol message (AviPa) “Mare Nostrum”, which is to be subordinate to the naval district command (Ro). At the end of the event, the General Director for Nuclear and Technological Development of the Navy, together with the delegation, visited the frigate “Defensora”, one of the three currently updated Niteroi classes.
