According to The Aviation Herald, the aircraft involved in the incident was the Boeing 727-200 freighter, registered under the registration number HK-4637 and operated by the Colombian airline LAS Lineas Aereas Suramericanas.

The jet carried out a cargo flight with three crew members from Bogotá (Colombia) to Valencia (Venezuela) and landed on runway 10 of the destination in heavy rain at around 3 p.m. local time or 4 p.m. Brasilia.

For reasons not yet known, something did not go as it should and the crew were unable to keep the Boeing 727 on the runway. The jet stopped a few yards from the side of the runway with all its wheels in the grass.

Current meteorological conditions (METAR) show that visibility was 8 to 9 thousand meters, but wind data is not available.

The AvHerald reports that there were no injuries and that the aircraft sustained minor damage, suggesting that the left main landing gear sank into the damp ground as the pictures show the left wing almost touching the ground.

Until the publication of this article, it is not possible to know if there was a take-off procedure or if the landing was made directly on the first approach, as the radar tracking units did not register the flight until the end of the Venezuela region due to insufficient coverage.
