The US-2 is a high-wing aircraft with four turboprop engines and six-bladed propellers. Its lower hull is constructed on a splash suppression scheme that allows it to splash down with waves up to three meters in height. A fifth motor with a smaller turbine creates compressed air to increase lift at low speed and increase STOL takeoff and short landing / landing capabilities. In its amphibious state, the US-2 can land at a conventional airport because it has a landing gear. While the US-2’s role was originally limited to search and rescue, with certain modifications it can perform other tasks. By equipping an internal tank and unloading gates, it is possible to extinguish fires with them, to equip seats with an internal restructuring and to dedicate oneself to the transport of people.
