Spain signs an agreement with CEPOL on the training of members of the European Security Forces and Bodies

The Spanish Ministry of the Interior has signed a cooperation agreement with the European Police Training Agency (CEPOL) to contribute to the implementation of training activities and learning in various disciplines for the period 2021-2024. Through this cooperation, Spain will take part in the implementation of the special training offer for more than one and a half million members of the Collective for Law and Order of the European Union.

The agreement was signed by the Secretary of State for Security’s Cabinet for Coordination and Studies. The Ministry of the Interior was selected along with 55 other bodies and institutions dealing with investigations from the 27 Member States of the European Union. The apprenticeship agreement for the next four years will also enable the exchange of knowledge and experience from a European perspective and establish links with other experts from the Member States.

In 2019, CEPOL’s support for its partners enabled more than 34,000 civil servants to receive training on issues arising from the European Union’s priorities in the area of ​​security, and in particular serious and organized crime. European Union Agency for Police Training, dedicated to developing, implementing and coordinating the training of law enforcement officers.
