Navantia has submitted the third and final documentation related to the Preliminary Design Review (PDR) of the F110 frigate, which will take place in May. The documents were sent to the DGAM’s F110 program office after approval by the classification society Bureau Veritas, which also validated previous deliveries of documents that took place in November and December.
In this way, Navantia respects the deadlines of the execution order and strictly adheres to the plan for the PDR that it put in place in June 2020. The next phase will be the construction or detailed planning.
The F110, which is being built at the Navantia shipyard in Ra de Ferrol and is intended to replace the Santa Mara-class FFGs, will represent a fundamental technological leap in platform and combat systems systems, incorporating technologies into its construction Industry 4.0, which is the management of systems will improve throughout their life cycle. The F-110 will be the first naval vessels to have a digital twin to optimize the management of logistics processes throughout the ships’ service phase.
