II edition of the FEINDEF Foundation Awards for Innovation-Noticias

FEINDEF, the International Defense and Security Exhibition, which will take place in Madrid from November 3rd to 5th, 2021, once again promotes entrepreneurship through technology and innovation.

To this end, the FEINDEF Foundation organized a project auction to which researchers, entrepreneurs, industry and end users were invited. This initiative, in collaboration with the General Directorate for Planning, Technology and Innovation of the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Science and Innovation and the Ministry of Universities, aims to promote the exchange of ideas in this sector.

This forum, called Defense & Security Innovation Brokerage (DSIB), will take place on November 4th on the second day of FEINDEF 21. At this brokerage, the 40 previously selected participants have the opportunity to present their technology development projects in 3×3 presentations (three slides in three minutes) to personalities from the university world, research, national and international companies as well as the armed forces and state security authorities.

At the end of the interventions, representatives of interested companies and public research institutions can meet with those responsible for the projects that best fit their business model.

In addition to an opportunity for networking, this Entrepreneurship Day offers various interventions and a round table of research and innovation authorities at which the new European defense policy and its funding lines are presented and discussed.

The FEINDEF 21 website has a digital platform on which all interested parties can register their initiatives. The projects need to be broken down into the areas set out in the European Defense Action Plan (EDAP, Abbreviation for English): electronics, metamaterials, drones, robotics, etc.

Europe is determined to promote its own research and development and to develop an industrial structure for the defense of the European Union according to its political and economic dimensions, so as not to be so dependent on other countries. In this sense, EDAP is the first European initiative aimed at cementing the defense pillar and funding its development.

FEINDEF 21 will be the stage for the promotion of European consortia under this new defense industry policy. These consortia must consist of at least three companies from different countries of the Union, among which small and medium-sized companies and the so-called small countries within the Union must play a prominent role.
