Grande-Marlaska appoints Brigadier General Tovar Jover as the new head of the Civil Guard Zone of Catalonia-Noticias

The Minister of the Interior Fernando Grande-Marlaska has appointed the Brigadier General of the Civil Guard, Jos Luis Tovar Jover, as the new head of the Catalan Civil Guard Zone. Tovar Jover was born in Galaroza (Huelva) in 1962. Ingres en the General Military Academy of Zaragoza in 1983 and received the job of Lieutenant of the Civil Guard in 1986.

The goals he has worked on since leaving the academy include the Lava, Barcelona and Balearic Commands, the Girona Command and the Transport Group.

He has received numerous civil and military awards at home and abroad, including the Silver Cross for the Civil Guard Award. the cross of military merit; the Cross, Commandery, Plaque and Grand Cross of the Royal and Military Order of San Hermenegildo; the Cross of the Order of Merit of the Civil Guard Corps with a white badge; the cross for the policeman and the gold medal of the French national defense, including awards and congratulations.

In his new position, he will be responsible for more than 3,100 troops stationed in the provinces of Barcelona, ​​Lleida, Girona and Tarragona and distributed in different units and specialty areas such as the Nature Conservation Services (SEPRONA), Martimo and Areo, Cinolgico, Explosives Deactivation , Taxes and borders, information, judicial police and mountains.

These units allow the Civil Guard to respond to missions delegated to Catalonia such as state tax protection, surveillance of ports and airports, protection of the environment, control of weapons and explosives, and investigation of certain assumptions, including criminal ones.
