Five Colombian police officers die in the crash of a UH-1H Huey helicopter

Yesterday, May 30th, at 9.15 a.m., in the village of Patico Alto in the Cantagallo municipality in the southern department of Bolvar, the UH-1H Huey helicopter with the registration 0741 of the Colombian police had an anti-drug operation against illegal groups in the area . Apparently the fall of the plane was caused by mechanical failure, leaving a record of five uniformed deaths assigned to the National Police’s Anti-Narcotics Directorate (DIRAN).

The fatal accident was immediately confirmed, the area was secured by personnel from Cantagallo Police Station and the National Army to investigate the death of the entire crew, whereupon Colombian President Ivn Duque trilled on his Twitter account: We deeply regret the death of five Heroes of our @PoliciaColombia, linked to @PoliciaAntiNAr, in the helicopter accident recorded in the municipality of Cantagallo south of Bolvar during events that are the subject of the investigation.

The deceased are:

MY. Azuero Garca Maximino, pilot Compaa Antinarcticos de Aviacin Guaymaral, affiliated with DIRAN.

MY. Garay Valencia Edison, commandant of the Jungla Santa Marta anti-drug company.

TEA. Fernndez Rincn Luis Enrique, Copilot, Compaa Antinarcticos de Aviacin Guaymaral, affiliated with DIRAN.

ITEMS. Franco Osorio Jheyson Andrs, aircraft maintenance technician, Compaa Antinarcticos de Aviacin Guaymaral, at DIRAN.

PT. Arcos Solarte Edwin Jovanny, Air Gunner, Compaa Antinarcticos de Aviacin Guaymaral. connected to DIRAN.
