On October 22, an Azul Embraer E195-E1 was forced to abort takeoff at Tabatinga Airport, in the interior of Amazonas, after a dog crossed the runway while the plane was heading for takeoff.
The PR-AYX registration aircraft even collided with the dog, according to the crew, who felt the impact on the landing gear. The plane was sure to slow down without further incident.
Azul’s aircraft was on flight AD4186 from Tabatinga to Manaus with 68 passengers and 5 crew members on board.
CENIPA do Brasil reported that the aircraft was able to stop within the runway boundaries and suffered no damage.
