Jerome Cadier, CEO of LATAM Brasil, was awarded the Medal of Merit for Aviation at an event attended by President Bolsonaro today.
The ceremony was held at Brasília Air Base to mark Aviator Day and Brazilian Air Force Day celebrations.
The Order of Merit for Aviation, the highest honor of the Air Force Command, was created by Legislative Decree No. 5.961 of November 1, 1943. It is intended to reward employees of the Air Force who have performed outstandingly for the country or who have distinguished themselves in the practice of their profession in addition to civil and military personalities (Brazilian or foreign) as well as military companies and civil institutions (national or foreign) in recognition of the outstanding Services for the Air Force.

The event was attended by the President of the Republic, Jair Messias Bolsonaro, who attended the official presentation of the first Gripen NG fighter of the Brazilian Air Force. The president even performed the traditional baptism on the plane:
