Airbus delivers the seventh H145 helicopter to the search and rescue service of the Federal Ministry of Defense

Airbus Helicopters has delivered the seventh and last H145 for the Bundeswehr Search and Rescue Service (SAR) to the Federal Office for Equipment, Information Technology and Service Support of the Bundeswehr (BAAINBw). The previously delivered helicopters are used for training and field tests and are available around the clock at the Niederstetten and Nrvenich air force bases for rescue operations. Operation with the new H145 will start shortly on schedule at the third SAR station in Holzdorf.

These are devices that are equipped for tasks other than search and rescue as they are equipped with high-performance cameras, projectors, emergency signal location systems, a full set of medical equipment, rescue cranes and cargo hooks for carrying fire extinguishers, among other things. They are easy to identify thanks to the distinctive bright orange color on their doors with “SAR” in blue letters.
