A C-130H Hercules of the Venezuelan Bolivarian Military Aviation crashes

A Lockheed C-130H Hercules aircraft with the registration FAV-9508 of the Grupo Areo de Transporte N 6 of the Bolivarian Military Aviation of Venezuela crashed without loss at the El Libertador Air Force Base (BAEL) in Maracay, Aragua, on the afternoon of January 28 to regret his five crew members.

The aircraft performed a scheduled service mission between the air base, which serves as the headquarters of the Grupo Areo de Transporte, to which it is affiliated, and Armando Schwarck Airport, also known as Los Pijiguaos Airport, in the municipality of Cedeo, Bolvar state. on return there is the same at its place of origin.

The accident occurred at 2 p.m. on the return to BAEL and during the landing process on runway 09, when a break occurred in the internal line of the supply hydraulic system, for which the crew carried out the emergency landing procedures and lowered the flaps and landing gear manually. After the aircraft touched down, the emergency brakes were ineffective, causing the aircraft to lean on its left side, pull away from the runway, and hit the vegetation growing a few feet from the paved area.
